Re: You Wanna Meet Chocs???? Come In!!!

Thanks Dillon for the explanation. I guess I’m one of those patriotic, dumb yanks who think all British food sucks!! I never order it!  On my first trip to London, ages ago when I was a very young lad, I remembered once ordering Yorkshire Pudding thinking it was a dessert!  I ...

Re: Japan fears nuclear plant meltdown

Alternative energy sources have been around for longer than some of us would care to remember, but in reality, (and this is my conspiracy theory :) ) none are ever likely to be developed into cost effective or cheaper alternatives to fossil fuels until fossil fuels are a lot closer to depletion than...

Re: Who would win...

Hasn't the US pretty much stripped the British army post WWII via economic agreements and other strategic signings? The glory days of the Brit's were in the pre-WWII era, fast forward to today and you'd see the British army is nothing more of a specialized fighting force who fill in the gaps for NA...

Re: Will regional unrest affect the UAE?

It's just been announced on the radio that Saudi Arabia has sent around 1,000 soldiers into Bahrain to quell the street protests and protect Government installations

Re: You Wanna Meet Chocs???? Come In!!!

Dillon… you must work in PR…! Don't you?? You got me to think about giving Yorkshire Puddings another chance, esp. some of those varieties you described! However, I had a hard time understanding everything in that poem… It must be written in Yorkshire lingo!! Isn't it?? That reminds me.... I once h...

Re: Who would win...

On the contrary MCL, the UK has a rich history of sharing technology with it’s allies and comes as no surprise to me that the technology developed during the development of a Mach 3 experimental aircraft at Filton contributed to the SR71 and indeed contributed directly to the Concorde which again wa...

He only produced three albums before he died of an anti depressant overdose in the early 70's, his best IMO was his first 'Five Leaves Left' he sadly wasn't very popular when alive but is now recognised as one of the most influential Singer Songwriters and guitarist in recent times! but you do have ...

Re: Who would win...

But to sum up I was not entirely off-target either, disarmament does seem to be the buzzword as far as the UK military is concerned. Not that it's a bad thing, but this policy does seem to be aimed at creating an increased dependency of ur other military allies. Disarmament would appear to be the b...

My Son travels regularly between Riyadh, Dubai and the UK with his laptop and has never had it looked at twice, he has sometimes been asked to switch it on at the security X-Ray, post baggage drop, and as soon as he does they tell him to turn it off again. Well I guess I won't be bumping into AA Gill at a Friday Brunch in Dubai anytime soon then?

I see he’s moved on from his loathing attacks on The Isle of Man then? Maybe he’ll get more of a positive financial response from Dubai Inc?

Re: Hangover Cures.

FD has it spot on, Fluids and Sugars. Did you know that Coca Cola was originally marketed as a hangover cure? It did however contain cocaine at that time so it would also have had the benefit of the ‘Hair of the dog’ effect as well as providing the fluids and sugars. I guess the likes of the caffein...
