No sure about this but I think that it has to do with the time that person spend working for the sponsor typically 1 year (which may be different for maids - don't know). I believe the employer will have the right to "object" if you left before the one year. The theory being that an employ...

A recent article from the Toronto Star, "the ICE idea", is catching on and it is a very simple, yet important method of contact for you or a loved one in case of an emergency. As cell phones are carried by the majority of the Population, all you need to do is program the number of a contac...

It may be an opticol illussion (not the girl). The smoke makes it look like there is an explosion and there is a darken area. What does it say on the banners? Maybe they were just hung there, blown away but the wind, etc. And no, I don't subcribe to the "conspiracy" theorists (politics, an...

Boys Night Out - What Happened?

Hey guys, what happened? I waited, and waited, for the limo and it never showed  I went to the place you told me on the pm  Not funny  So I decided to go looking for you and visited 27 bars (slightly above my limit of one drink but..). I described the lot of you and each time met...

Refrigerators are really cheap at carrefour, Geant, etc. and they deliver,e etc. On many refrigerators you can switch the swing of the door by just removing a couple of screws (many are designed that way nowadays)

It would actually be informative to look at the relative rates of crimes against women by countries. The UK and US, for example, have charities working towards highlighting the plight of crimes against women and say that perhaps the real number of crimes is 2 or 3 times those that are reported. Per...

Yes but you have to pay for the privilege  Supposedly you are not allowed to take pictures inside, etc. but everyone does it. Just check their website for the various packages (lunch, afternoon tea, drinks at the sky bar, dinner, etc.). Or you can stay there for a mere $3,000 a night at least.

I respect your opinion... I just thought you had statistics and had considered that in certain countries women may be relunctant to report such abuse than in the "evil-west".

Sarcasm might likely be the lowest form of wit, but sometimes it is most appropriate - especially when dealing with cases of hypocrisy. Every woman from every country all over the world is at risk from rape because men think they are entitled to do it. It doesn't matter what nationality or w...

Kanelli- stats on paedophillia and rape are available on the web. Honour killings are a problem in Pakistan etc. Domestic violence is an issue in many countries too. I read that My point is that we should check to see in which countries/cultures are there more crimes against women. A good site to s...

And there lies the root of America. It is not a team player. I think you have hit the nail on the head there. American teams of various sports tend to a collection of individuals, rather than a team. For an excellent example, I look to the 2004 Ryder Cup. The European team thrashed the US team, des...
