I have not heard of any upper age limit on property ownership particularly one not requiring financing.

Without sounding morbid and depending on your age, your main concern should be inheritance laws, etc. in case you truly mean retirement until...

If I find otherwise I'll let you know.

Re: Lookinf for a solo traveller

Hi, I just arrived in Dubai this morning. I'm travelling solo so I'm looking for any other solo travellers out there. I'm male, 31 from Canada. If you're looking to go out for a few drinks or whatever PM me. No one likes Canadians. But in case I am wrong; check out the "Events" forum (Pai...

Not Happy.

I just came from the central post office in Karama (took forever to find) to pick-up a package. It was something that I bought when I was home but the seller screwed-up and did not deliver it to me before I flew back. So they shipped it to Dubai "free of charge". Well, in order to get the ...

Re: Impossible to pass the road test in DXB

This is my 3rd time trying for the road test with Emirates Driving School. I know I have given my best shots so far..but I failed once more again. In my opinion, the examiner shouldn't judge the student within 5 minutes of drive. One mistake then you are failed. In this 5 minutes, you have to be pe...

The main question is if housing is truly being paid or whether you are getting an allowance. A 3 bedroom villa will cost you a pretty penny. So make sure that they are actually paying for the housing. With an allowance you would have to pay the difference. With housing paid and the rest of it works ...
