NO - everyone on the forum knows this as me and given that I've used it for YEARS on both my user accounts, you don't have the right to tell me to change it. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and I'll just assume you have a crush on me!
Saturday 17th September, Harley Davidson in Dubai are showcasing the new 2012 models. There is also a bike parade starting at the ENOC station on Al Wasl road at 4pm, ending at teh Harley showroom on Shk Zayed road. Proceeds from sales of merchandise during the event go to charity.
So he got acquitted due to lack of evidence? I have a sneaking suspicion that had he not refused to return to Dubai and attend the court hearings, he probably would have been charged. What about the poor guy who gave in his passport for him? http://www.7days.ae/article/news/national/doctor-cleared-r...
Nothing to do with locals id, it's to do with the justice system here. In this case, ok the judge saw sense and dropped it because of lack of evidence BUT this is pretty much a one off. We all know that if something gets media attention and the fact he refused to return to face trial has a bearing, ...
What I don't like is people who seem to have an inbuilt hatred and have never even met any of those people who they have hatred towards - pathetic really.
Things will never change in the world, until people just accept others as just that 'people' nothing more, nothing less.
Kind of sad really isn't it. There will always be people who do that kind of thing though to gain attention. Glad he owned up to it, but his career is in tatters now.
Kid, why do you not understand that to take someone to court, with the threat of jail for such a 'minor, petty' thing is just sooo stupid?! In any other court you'd be laughed out, people don't take you to court and jail for a small insult. Don't you understand that in the grand scheme of things it'...

This just underscores the importance of avoiding confrontations with locals. There seem to be a few locals like UAE kid who would love to pick a fight with a foreigner then expect the legal system to protect them. I don't know. A friend of mine who got into a bit of trouble, found the young Emirati...
That's just awful isn't it. In a case that severe, why wasn't the accused remanded in custody? But then hey one of the guys who beat up a pregnant woman was allowed his passport to leave the country.
Not heard about one at the airport, but there is a store at Mirdiff City Centre - not far from the airport. They mostly stock perfume and beauty products. Obviously being a muslim country, you won't get the 'full range' of products.

Are you nuts? It didn't just go *poof* and then there were these two people who onyl existed in the world. Good grief, go back to school and learn about evolution.
It seems even monkeys have more intelligence than some people round here.
I'm glad to see that the Health Authority is going on a health drive, it really is necessary. The UAE now has one of the highest rates of diabetes and obesity worldwide. People really need to start thinking seriously about their health, ditching the junk food, rely less on home help and doing their ...
I know it's difficult for people not to lead sedentary lifestyles in the heat, but it saddens me when you see so many over weight people, especially children. They're set up for a lifetime of health issues. It doesn't take much to make life changes and diabetes and other problems that can seriously ...
Not by a long shot. The thread with the most replies and pages is the 'Write about the person above you' thread in the Games section. It's been going forever. Now on it's 901 page.
LOL nice, we renovated two old farm cottages and reveal inglenook fireplaces, original bread ovens and all the beams - why people cover these up I will never know! Anyway, I'm a terrible insomniac at the best of times. Several things that help are a mug of warm milk with some honey. Warm milk is a n...
I wouldn't say it's amusing to watch anyone getting drunk, especially when you know full well 99.99999% of them then go and get in their cars and drive off! Stay well away.

I never said they were sleeping pills, but the side effect is drowsiness, so does the trick.
I think it really depends on what sector you work in Drew and what your boss/workmates think and if you're out and about dealing with clients really. Sadly in many instances 1st impressions are still a big deal and piercings/tattoos etc still dont' sit right with a lot of people. It's sad I know.
