Ali, don't get me wrong, I used to work in a school for kids with disabilities and they were the most amazing children I've seen in my life and that taught me alot. There's nothing more gratifying than when you see that childs face light up with a big grin because of something you've done to make th...

Hey, It tends to be fine, the authorities tend to turn a blind eye to westerners living with their partners, it only becomes a problem if you're muslim and someone decides to shop you. The only thing I think you'll need to make sure of is that you're on separate visas from your employing companies a...

The basic is great! Means your leaving gratuity will be good. Where abouts is your job going to be based? As a package it's good, but as the guys have stated you need to get the company to agree to give you some of the allowances as a lump sum to get you started. For furniture and stuff it's well wo...

Hey Peeps, Ok then I can tell you about this as I brought both my dog and cat over from the UK. They require all their vaccinations and you have to get your export and import licences from your country and from the ministry here. I have to say I flew Emirates and their Sky cargo people were fantasti...

Blah blah blah, is there any chance you guys could answer just one post without going all religious! Why shouldn't aliens exist? There's tonnes of evidence to support it, you can't be so naive to think we're the only ones in the vast universe. And I meant there have been many predicted dates for the...

Blame the parents!

Can someone tell me why parents are so irresponsible in the UAE. Never have I seen anywhere that cares so little about the safety or discipline of children. Why aren't kids wearing seatbelts in cars - it absolutely makes my blood run cold, to see a small child jumping around on the back seat of a ca...

Well I'd like to know how the theory is FLAWED, giving the overwhelming evidence of mans evolution. Actually one line of thought is that rodents were the basis of mans evolution as they survived whereas the dinosaurs did not. How can you just right off millions of years of evidence? You can't just r...

Anyway have you ever stopped to look at how close apes and monkeys resemble human being?

They're the only other species that will create tools for their use in every day life, and they're the only other species who will kill it's own kind out of maliciousness.

Ok Pumpkin, then revived it shall be, you know me by now always one for pouring oil in the water - hehehe! I think science and religion can go hand in hand, but there are gaps, for example what people cannot explain through science they often tend to use religion to explain what science cannot. But ...

Is your US salary net or gross, as also remember it's tax free here.

Apart from housing you can live dirt cheaply here, you don't have to go to all the expensive places, there are definately cheap alternatives, you just have to look around.

I think you live in Dubai for the lifestyle to be honest, many people come here to try and save, but the way things are going with rising rents and no incremental salary increase to compensate for it, many people are finding it harder to do and many are also leaving as it's not financially viable an...

I'd like to be optomistic and say 'd hope that would never happen, a persons nationality should not come into it, it's whether that person has the right qualifications to do the job. I think if they've already stated a salary package, why shouldn't they stick to it. I've not come across this scenari...

I don't think beating a child is such a good thing. But the question about snacking a child is a big problem, it's against the law to smack your child in many places in Europe now and the parents are being penalised for disciplining their kids, which is ridiculous. When I was a kid the threat of a s...

Hey Guys,

No this is such fun, I've done this before, basically a client will ask the mystery shopper to grade their staff, you could do anything from going to a department store or cafe, eating out whatever.

I tell you Dubai needs this to kick staff service into shape.

Yeah sadly hotels are pretty expensive, you could maybe look at some of the 3 / 4 star hotels like the Ibis or Novotel, which are central in dubai. Just run it through a search engine. Also as someone who is good at blagging, don't forget as you want to stay for a decent amount of time, you can ask ...

Guys and gals, instead of going on about man correcting himself etc etc etc.

Why don't you start with yourself! Set the example! You know what if everyone starts to make small changes in the way they treat each other and the world, then it will all be a better place.
