xty, It's not illegal at all. My mother has worked in the UAE for 10 years whilst on my fathers visa, and changed jobs several times. But the company has to apply for a temporary labour card for her.

If you have to pre-apply for the visa, then I guess you will have to do that.

They are clamping down on the visa runs now, you can only do it a maximum of 3 times, before they'll refuse it.

No licence means you don't need a liquor licence like you would in MMI or A&E.

I've never known anyone to get stopped, only people they suspect are buying it to sell on - like those who make the home deliveries.

Hmm even in International city the 2 beds are starting at around 90,000 these days.

You can however get a 2 bed villa in Mirdiff for around that, there's a few, but you'd be very lucky.
