Indie Music = Independent music, the stuff that would never be released by the mainstrwam record labels, but by their subsidaries. Of course it's all become mainstream now. Essentially sort of alternative rocky music, or Britpop, Blur, Oasis, Killers etc stuff like that. Difficult to describe really.

If you're going to split hairs Ian, then maybe we should put it in the Ladies Forum.

It's a general interest story and could be justified in several of the sections, therefore until some stupid like you puts swear words in it, and it ends up in FC I guess it should stay here.

It should be moved because it's regarding a specific event, unlike the other topic.

I can't move it from here, otherwise I would have done so. Instead I just duplicated the thread in the relevant section.

Pursuit of Happyness

Gotta say if you like story driven films then go check this one out. Based on a true story Will Smith stars alongside his son Jaden and Thandie Newton, as a man who's down and out and down to his last dollar. He gets taken on at a stock brokerage as an intern. Fab story, amazing to see what you can ...

Any ban or time limit on working for competition clauses that are in contracts, can be bought out at the municipality. You pay about 3,000 dhs and then go work for whoever you want, or just find a job in the free zone.

Sarah, What kind of work does your partner do? Also many expats coming to work in the UAE have to hold diplomas for certain industries and get them attested etc. The same would apply for you, and hospitality, unless you're in management does not pay well here, as sadly the majority of people working...

Sarah,

I hate to say it, but Iran is hardly the safest place for you right now either, with the US threats there and everything. Plus as a British citizen you have to apply for a visa to enter Iran, which could take a while as well, also visas are only valid for 7 days.

Hasn't this discussion gone on before? I think the question is to open. Obviously for some people religion is important, and that's fine. For others it's not important, and that's also fine. People can believe whatever they want, so long as they don't try and impose their views on others, then that'...

Actually I think you guys kinda miss some important issues. Yes Prince Harry might just be doing his duty for Queen and Country. However due to his status - 3rd in line to the throne - it makes him a prized target, which could put troops in danger. Plus of course the media could cause big problems f...

Blackberry in the UAE - is it worth it?

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone uses Blackberry here in the UAE.

I work freelance and it's a nightmare to always be in the vicinity of a wireless connection for my laptop.

Is using Blackberry through Etisalat worth it here?

Thanks Fayz,

Actually I was planning to use the BB for email, web etc. But I don't know whether to do that, or to just get a new mobile with push email and pay for the connect time.

Man, some of you just don't get it do you. Without K9 there would be stray and wild dogs roaming the streets all over the place, breeding like heck, getting into rubbish bins for food etc. Which would you prefer, a charity who keeps strays off the street and finds them loving homes, or packs of dogs...

Typical reply from HP. Here's a lesson for you! Dolphins and Whales are NOT FISH, they are mammals, which means they're air breathing. The creatures are incredibly intelligent and live in family pods, so in scenes like this, entire families are wiped out in one go. The feel emotion, pain and have to...

HP, stop trashing this thread. The point is the majority of these species are protected in the first place. Humans can do something about their plight, animals on the other hand are totally and utterly at the mercy of mankind. If you have nothing to contribute to this thread, then don't post in it. ...

Shaf, the whole point is that these 'mammals' are not killed humanely. As has been pointed out most 'land dwelling mammals' are killed using...
