Re: Anyone Re-registered Their SIM Card Yet?

Well I can kind of see the point of it. I've have the same number for 9 years, changed address and job numerous times, so none of my details are correct anymore. People leave and then pass on the SIM cards to others. They just want to keep everything up to date I guess.

Landlords forced to be transparent over service fees

About time I'd say after the complete mess that so many communities have been plunged into. They should made LL's prove they've paid the service fees, before their property can be rented, then all this hassle and drama can be avoided. A step in the right direction. http://www.thenational.ae/news/uae...

Klingon fails to catch on in the UAE

I'm quite disappointed at this. Given how popular Comic-Con was this year, I'm surprised more people didn't sign up? Maybe Elvish or Na'avi is more popular:

Re: Landlords Forced To Be Transparent Over Service Fees

RERA do indeed sort out many messes! Who said anything about DP? It's mostly Nakheel and Emaar that are the problem areas at the moment and are withholding services until fees are paid. Tenants shouldn't be punished because of slack property owners. There needs to be a more efficient way to collect ...

Justice for Natalie

Now her story has finally made the UK headlines. Natalie's case is currently in court. She's been found in favour of twice, but because the hotel involved keep appealing it, she never gets the justice nor compensation that she deserves. A bunch of us are running the half marathon in aid of Natalie i...

Re: Landlords Forced To Be Transparent Over Service Fees

Did I quote 7 Days? er nope! Actually it's ALL the developers. Regardless I sincerely hope that RERA manage to pull something out the bag and get this regulated and the issues resolved to make the whole situation better for everyone. RERA currently are encouraging tenants, owners etc to make suggest...

Re: Landlords Forced To Be Transparent Over Service Fees

It affects all communities, so it is across the board, they don't just pick and choose. But Nakheel and Emaar are the ones who have been highlighted time and again. Plenty of experience of owning and renting property - cheers. We'll just have to wait and see won't we, but I hope a resolution that su...

Salik credit - use it or lose it

36 months is a pretty long time to not pass through a toll gate really.

All you have to do is type in the username in teh 'search' function - top right - and you'll see that account hasn't posted since Tuesday 1st March 2011!

FYI, Andy has always known I've had that account, as do most forumers, it's no secret.

Re: Landlords forced to be transparent over service fees

I think what I own and what I do with it is my personal business.

And they HAVE to find a resolution, the whole situation is a complete mess at the moment.

Cheers.

Nope, I think it's kind of nice. It's a bit of an odd way to show their appreciation. People can't get citizenship here very easily, so it would make no difference anyway.

Re: Help With Entitlement Due To Redundancy.

They have to pay whatever is in his contract for redundency. Your best bet is to contact the Ministry of Labour and ask what exactly he is entitled to under UAE labour law.

lailah84 , Basically yes, once you've been asked to re-register you get 3 months to do it, if you don't they disconnect the number and allocate it to someone else.

The Dress Code debate rumbles on

Being out and about during Ramadan, I'm quite appalled at what I see some people wearing, or not as the case maybe.

Anyone tried NKD pizza?

OMG truly amazing. Love the fact that you can order online and it gets to your door in 30 minutes. Plus they're more healthy as well. Can't wait to try the gluten free bases they have coming out soon. If you haven't tried these yet, give them a whirl.

Re: The Dress Code Debate Rumbles On

I seriously doubt the authorities would ever implement a law regarding it, but still, people really should learn a bit about where they are visiting and be a bit more respectful.

Re: The Dress Code Debate Rumbles On

melika969 , totally agree. A group of locals now go and speak to people directly and hand out leaflets. Interestingly, Abu Dhabi has produced information which is given out at the airport, but Dubai has yet to implement anything.

Re: Anyone Tried NKD Pizza?

desertdudeshj , I agree about the pricing which is why I just order one of the set ones, then maybe add an extra topping. The reason I like them, is they're a lot healthier than other pizzas and not dripping in fat and extra gunk. Plus their bases are whole-meal and they're doing a gluten free one ...

Re: The Dress Code Debate Rumbles On

Well I guess time will tell really over this one. Certainly there are many locals who disagree with a dresscode, and others who have a totally radical stance, so there needs to be a happy medium somewhere. But for most it should just be common sense. Making a few examples of people, or kicking them ...

Re: What's Up With Some People

I saw a woman the other day with a strappy top on and very short shorts, that were cut off so the pockets were hanging out beneath. Never mind how revealing it was, she looked cheap and tacky.
