I would just say avoid Fast Rentacar. With any rental company make sure the car is registered, insured and has no fines pending when you take it.

I think it's a great diea, very easy and you can add what you like to it. Chocolate and honey is a great idea or other fruits, for a healthy option.

So have you applied for your Emirates ID card? Tomorrow May 31st is the final day for applications before the authorities start implementing fines. 20 dhs per day up to a maximum fine of 1,000 dhs.

Well they're going to start shutting down services, so that you have to have an ID card to do things like register your car, open banks accounts etc. Personally I think it's all a waste of time.

Wouldn't say there's a massive German community, a few and some Pols. My OH is German and he's from Bavaria. You must try the hofbrauhaus in the JW Marriot, their food and cool, frothy berverages are excellent.

To be perfectly honest Drew in all this time I've never had an ID card, nor have I been asked for one. I'm only doing it now as I want to avoid a fine and kinda hope it does make certain things easier. We shall see Inshallah as they say.

S&S is great I use it all the time. Duty on luxury goods over $700 I think is 5%. When the item is received in Dubai they sms and email you with the cost of shipping, which I just pay onlone using my credit card. It's all very easy and efficient.

evitav , Not the half of it. I know a lot of crew here and they say on flights to 'certain' countries, 'some' passengers have no clue about getting up to use the toilet, or they're too scared to and they litterally just sit and wet themselves in their seat - lovely.

Well yes it still gets stopped at customs and they'll add the duty onto it.
