Women told not to jet ski alone!

Just ridiculous. Once again, women are punished, because men can't behave themselves. The mind boggles it really does.

Of course, they can't possibly acknowledge the fact that it's the men acting out.

He shouldn't have exited the country, there was no need to. If he has the offer letter, he should contact the ministry of labour and ask their advice.

Seeing as she's on your visa and has disappeared, you can file a report with the police to find her.

Residents going on holiday urged to inform the police

I think this is quite a good idea. People still assume that the UAE is very safe, well break-ins are definitely on the rise.

Re: Residents Going On Holiday Urged To Inform The Police

How many people actually know and trust their neighbours these days? Not many. Better off getting a friend to house sit.

Re: Residents Going On Holiday Urged To Inform The Police

No Berrin, they don't, in that you don't get sent to chop chop square to lose a hand if you're caught stealing. It's normally a jail sentence, fine and deportation.

Solar power a real prospect for the UAE

Finally! With sunshine virtually all year round, I'm surprised they don't use this more - apart from powering parking ticket machines.

Re: UAE Dress Code Gains Support

I went to MOE last night and was amazed at how many people were innappropriately dressed! Women in tiny little shorts and strappy tops, leaving nothing to the imagination. Many men weren't any better either - what's wrong with people?

Re: Driving 101

Cab drivers here can be a nightmare. As for pedestrians, they are indeed considered hazards, because they're unpredictable. Don't expect people to stop at pedestrian crossings here - they just don't. Plus guys here deliberately try to off themselves in front of your car to get blood money to send to...

prowheels , You're completely right of course and it requires education. Yes there are warning signs at malls, but no one is enforcing it. It's that old catch 22 again.

Road crashes main cause of child death in UAE

Yup, once again this has hit the headlines. It's nothing new, but when oh when will the authorities make it compulsory to strap children in their seats in vehicles?

Re: Road Crashes Main Cause Of Child Death In UAE

Of course it's about education Shaf, when I was a child we never wore seat belts - then the Government did the whole 'clunk, click' campaign and people soon caught on. With so much info out there, there really is no excuse these days.

Re: Question On Visa For Non Married Couple

Your GF cannot get a residence visa unless a. she is married to you and you sponsor her, or b. she finds a job and is sponsored by her employer. These are the only two options for you really. Having a UK passport she could do visa runs every 30 days and just stay on a tourist visa, but then she can'...

Saddness for children of the world

So many news stories at the moment seem to involve children, whether it's the atrocities in Syria or the fire that killed 13 toddlers in a shopping mall on Doha.

Just awful how many lives are lost at such a young age. Does it make anyone reconsider having children?

Re: Saddness For Children Of The World

Very true. I just can't imagine the absolute heartache of parents who outlive their children, it's just so wrong and very cruel.

In that Doha fire triplets from one family were lost, just so awful.

UAE residents told 'Wash your hands!'

Ewwwww quite frankly this is gross! I'm a clean freak who carries hand sanitizer with me. I detest shaking peoples hands, because I know most don't wash them after using the loo. I know! I especially hate it when you see staff in the food service industry doing that - in which case I usually say something.
