DFT , They're not necessarily having utilities disconnected, but communal facilities such as use of gums, pools, evelvators being shut down etc are being taken away. I don't know what the answer is, but it's all getting a bit ridiculous.

DSF runs every year. It starts 5th Jan and runs to 5th Feb. The fireworks are on a huge dhow on the creek and it is very impressive, well worth taking a look.

Sandstormlady , LOL there are lady taxi drivers, they drive the 'ladies only' cabs which have pink roofs to the cars. Some of them aren't much better in the driving/customer service area either.

In and around Hatta is extremely beautiful. Sadly the rock pool are has been ruined by people leaving their rubbish and putting graffiti all over the place - such a shame. But it is well worth a drive/trek around the area.
