Mr Sultan had an excellent chance to refute the article but he didnt. Instead he went on a rant meaning: "Yes we have many bad things in Dubai, and theres bad things in UK as well" So???? Just because London has ills doesnt mean Dubai should have the same. I am a Dubai wellwisher, I dont c...

Naruto, law is law and I agree on that. But given that laws are bent and overlooked in so many cases (not in criminal cases but definitely in traffic or immigration matters), one exception wouldnt harm the authorities , would it? We see many cases where laws are bent depending on the person's wealth...

I never really understood the "respect for national dress" thing. Firstly, why on earth should people respect others based on their clothing? I respect elders, women, children, but based on clothes?? Secondly, even if expats gain an unfair respect advantage through clothing, why would that...

There are a no. of sides to this issue: Pro-companies: 1) Some companies provide quite good accomodation with entertainment facilities for their workers 2) Even if companies invest in housing, many laborers have no sense of hygiene and will end up making the place dirty. How do you judge if some pilots are "way better" than others ?

I understand all pilots have to be perfect in their jobs regardless of nationality, so how does one turn out better than the other?

I have been looking around the market, and to make your life easy, I will recommend the following: 1) First, decide whether you want an offroad vehicle or not, this is the most crucial part of the purchasing process. There is a substantial difference between offroad ready vehicles like Xterra, Fortune...

I was thinking of the Xterra as well, as its quite fast and really good offroad. However its cons are: 1) Very basic cabin, when compared to CRV or even Fortuner 2) On road ride quality isnt that good. If you think you wont be going proper offroading more than once a year, than it may be better to g...

Their transfer budget will be less than City's for sure. A lot of shafted Hydra investors would rather that Dr. Al Fahim try to devote his time to ensuring Hydra delivers stuff on time (instead of delaying and subsequently increasing prices) instead of buying football clubs !

Strict laws dont make a country 3rd world, however discrimination in applying laws certainly do....

Best car parking spot in Dubai

I will be going away on vacation for 2 weeks and am flying from DXB. As I live in Abu Dhabi, I will need to park my car (and not in Dubai airport due to the high charges) :P I guess I will have to park not too close to the airport (as taxis may refuse the short ride), so I am thinking of parking my ...

The more worrying aspect is the money part. You kill, and are rich, just pay off the victim to shut up.
Should justice be based on money ?

I thought I was dreaming, as the fares are very reasonable.

They have made the fares 5.80 or 80 fils to encourage peopel to buy cards instead of paying for single journeys (as they would most likely lose the 20 fils due to lack of change)

Re: Emirates Labor Laws Favor Employers, Can Trap Employees

Old news, even though things are improving with the wired salaries etc. Still some way to go, just yesterday saw a news in which RAK taxi drivers were offered slightly lesser packages and asked to sign the new contracts or be deported. Re: The Worst Things About Dubai

Well, the driving is bad but its better than in the neighbouring countries. What I find the most annoying is: 1) The racism 2) Often very poor customer service 3) Lack of common sense in most people (this often leads to 2). Apart from that Dubai isnt that bad a place, it is relatively safe, road/ele...
