What about sleeping on your stomach but place a pillow underneath the chest so the little heart has some cushion ?! In which position do you sleep? If you sleep on your stomach or on your left side, you are putting pressure on your heart with the extra body weight, while the heart has to conti...

The local filter I got from the supermarket doesnt work for me. However, dandruff shampoo seems to work ok so far. The pharmacies at the hospital recommended Pantene.

I am in the same situation. Although I know I will win the case but the hassle of going through the rent committee and waiting for 4 months etc is not worth it.

Generally you find them when you are sitting down eating so perhaps they are hovering around the food. I dont recall seeing them when you sit on the verandah with NO food. Unlike in the outback Australia, they are everywhere most of the time. Flies are nasty. They bring all sort of bacteria around. ...

Sheikh Mohammed should definitely be the last person to be criticised for whatever his action. So far it has only been commendable. If not, it would still be a closed country, If not, you and I and probably most of the expats will not be here, If not, globally wouldnt know about this little city Sur...

Construction in this country

How many of you are concern about the structures in this country - if you care. Due to cement shortage and what not, I understand developer maybe cutting corners, using low grade cement, improper curring period, perhaps improper reinforcement even. Properly done the structure should last for 70 year...

Sure. May you be reminded that he is the only Sheikh who tried to clamp down on labour mistreatment. Remember only a few months ago when Dubai has gotten more stringent on the working hours etc?

Agree more should be done but its not an easy job. At least he IS doing something.

1) Gulf News
2) Visuals from the new highway ramps, marks showing curring are not properly done I was told
3) Bahrain's Financial Tower, apparently the landmark project is so shody many reckon it wont last more than 10 year!

I could be wrong and I hope I AM wrong.

1) Not for DU. They only require your tenancy contract, passport and maybe employment letter. Not sure about ETISALAT though. If you live around the Marina area then you are using DU anyway. 2) There are fully furnished apartments. Again what area are you looking at? Most applications here can make ...

True Compassion or action through embarrassment???
[/quote]

To be honest, how many people really act out of compassion these days? I mean compare to those act through embarrasment. Look at the corporate world today, isn't it the same?

One of human's biggest flaw: we learn to regret.

Are there traffic light sensors here?

My guess is no.

Not sure why some traffic lights at the busy intersection turn so quickly. The ones at Trade Centre roundabout from Jebel Ali heading to Bur Dubai, Oud Mehta Road from Pyramid Centre to Karama, Al Futtaim Plaza U turn, Greens heading to MOE ...

Quite frustrating.
