It's because Mohamed didn't believe in idol worship.

That's why you will not see pictures of Sheikh Mohamed or Sheikh Zayed all over Dubai or Abu Dhabi, as to worship or idolise something or someone is haram.

I like simple clean websites without over the top graphics.

Probably. I use a projector and use the VGA on it.

PC on TV's are never great, but you can output to TV on most computers these days. It's not bad for watching TV, just don't expect the clarity of a computer monitor.
