I'd hate to be a single woman in Dubai.

I think Dubai is 'safer' than many places, but you still need to be wary that nowhere is 100% safe. (Fayz and I had this very discussion the other night)

Due to the ratio of males to females here, I think harassment can be a big issue.

Yes it does happen! A very close friend of mine went through it as well, but after seeking treatment, as well as examining her diet and trying to reduce the stress in her life.... I am happy to say her hair has grown back. I think basically because the first 3 months in Dubai can be hella stressful....
