I saw a thread about the Arabicpod language-learning website, but it was from back in 2009 and I wanted to know if people still recommend it.

Also, how important is it to learn passable/survival Arabic before moving to Dubai? I know over 80% of residents are from other countries, but I don't know how much of that group speaks English.
