Reuters reported this year that the governor of the Dubai International Financial Center said his city wants to create at least two of the world’s top 10 financial services institutions by 2015.
In an interview with local newspaper Khaleej Times, a senior human resources official at Saudi-based bank Aljazira characterised competition for talent as “vicious”.
“We are growing our headcount by 85 percent this year and planning to double in size again next year…. Competition is becoming very vicious in the sector and there are not enough professionals in the market,” he told the newspaper.
