FREELANCERS IN DUBAI, LOOK HERE! May 24, 2007
We are currently updating our directory of freelancers, and we would like to hear from FCP editors, Motion Graphics Designers/Compositors, and 3D artists. At this point we are only interested hearing from freelancers already living in Dubai, and preferably people who are full time freelancers as opposed to just freelancing at evenings and weekends.

Final Cut Pro editors
You need to have at least 3 years experience with FCP. You're used to client sessions, but you can also handle projects without much supervision. You know everything about formats such as SD, HD, HDV, mini-DV etc, and you also know how to handle a VTR. Exporting mpgs or burning DVDs should be a breeze, as would preparing graphics in Photoshop and/or After Effects. You're comfortable with both offlining and onlining, and you have worked on both TVCs and long form projects before.

Motion Graphics Designers/Compositors
You know your motion graphics inside and out and you've done tonnes of chroma keying. You work comfortably on both Macs and PCs, and either After Effects, Combustion, Shake or Fusion is you weapon of choice. You can work both independently or in a client session, and you know the importance of delivering material that exceeds the client's expectations, and the importance of keeping deadlines. At night you dream about animated typography and/or crowd multiplication shots.

3D artists
We are using Maya at Rolling Thunder, so please, if you only know 3DSMax, Cinema4D or XSI, think again. You have around 5 years of working experience with Maya, and you're a generalist proficient in everything like modeling, texturing, animating, lighting and rendering. You have done a lot of 3D tracking before, either in Maya or in Boujou, and are used to working with live footage. Any experience with architectural animation would be advantageous.

Rolling Thunder is a small but rapidly growing post facility, currently based in Dubai Media City (we plan to move to Studio City as soon as it's finished) in the U.A.E. The majority of our work is TV commercials, Architectural Visualizations, and Corporate Videos. Recent clients include Cheetos, Dubai Business Bay and Damac, and we have a lot of interesting projects coming up in the near future.

Please post your Reel and CV on a DVD to the address below. Please also include a picture as well as your hourly/daily rates.
