RB, go back and re-read what I wrote - was I talking about 'English' players like Rooney etc etc? No I wasn't!

FD yeh your are right, british clubs top the rankings but those british clubs dont have a majority of "ENGRISH" players.

Example MAN U = 2 to 3 english players who will be in the starting line up
Chelsea = 2 english players
Man C = 2 english players
Arsenal = 1 english player



Lets compare with the Spanish league:

Barca = 7 SPANISH players (6 to 7 players in the national spain team)
Real = 5 Spanish players (3 to 4 of those players are in the national team)




Bottom line is the Premier league is an "OK" league run by foreign players and thats why engrish players suffer when it comes to international arena because they dont get any chance in the league!!

Micheal Owen is on the sub bench of man u behind berbatov and marcheda and its the same guy that scored against Argentina 8 years ago!!

FA needs to sort itself out, otherwise England will not win any major tournment even though they boast they have the best league in the world. Fair enough you do but the league has more TOP foreign players than TOP young english players!!

and you have said it EPL is a big business, they market their league well thats why most ppl watch it, however its having a negative result on the English International Team and sorry to say this but the results have shown in the past!!

FA needs to introduce new rules like 6 english players should be in the starting line up every week!!! otherwise english international team will just end up "sore" "crying" loosers

AHA RB is quite right.. The weak link has indeed been the EPL. Maybe it's time for top English players to spread out. Play in Spain, Italy etc. But for that happen salaries must first drop Looks like the FA is a victim of it's own success!!!(financial that is)

But I doubt the FA is not aware of that. They're probably willing to sacrifice national pride for profits. And then when profits roll in they can always say that they have the best league in the world. And all will be forgiven...until the next WC that is!!! bottom line is England football team got WHOOOPED and are a rubbish International TEAM

but it would have been better if England played argentina. Would have luved to see what messi did to upson terry or even the lampard gerrard custard
