it differs a bit. ASL for the shorthand/slang form for love is as follows

On the right hand, the Thumb, index finger, and pinky are extended while to middle and ring finger are folded into the palm. This links the the letters "I" (pinky finger) "L" (the index and thumb) and "Y" (all three extended fingers) to form the initials of "I" "L"ove "Y"ou. This position is held with the index and pinky fingers pointed straight up and the palm facing the person you are communicating i with. Here's and illustration:

Yet another way of signing "I love you" in ASL, is through signing the sentence

I

With only the index finger extended, have your hand at chest level in the center of your chest with the index finger pointed at your chin.

Love

Start by Holding your right hand in your left at chest level about 5 inches from your chest with all fingers extened save for your thumbs. Then Move your hands to rest on your chest in the area of your heart.

You

With only the index finger extended, have your hand at chest level in the center of your chest with the index finger pointing at the person your are communicating with.
