A group of Israeli soldiers have launched an initiative to highlight a different side of the army they serve, inviting visitors to a new website, Friend-a-Soldier, to engage in dialogue with them.

“There is a monolithic perception of the Israeli army,” said Daniel Nisman, a 24-year-old Cleveland native and CEO of the website. “Many people see soldiers as nothing more than a uniform. I wanted people to see the human side of the IDF.”

IDF are extremely inhuman, similar to the ones in Syria, and Mubarak's-Egypt.
However, IDF is still worse, in fact the whole gov is inhuman (Exception for peace-wanting people).

I like them Sym, they are just protecting their own people. They are no different from any other Armed Force. Most of them are just young people, not unlike you, who have been called up to serve their country. They consider themselves to be brothers just like you Muslims. Unfortunately we all need protecting these days, even the Jews, probably more so.

I hear you BM, and I can't argue on this fact. I'm sure a lot of those soldiers aren't happy with their current situation. Who doesn't want to enjoy life in peace anyways?

Exactly Sym, for sure those kids will not be happy with their situation. In a perfect world we would all live together in peace, but if we can go some way to seeing the other sides situation, we are making progress.

BM, I am trying to avoid arguing these days,
but I see Israel point of view for protecting their people and I respect it,
BUT seriously, you don't see Palestinians have any right to get their land back? I mean is Israel convinced that the land they are occupying shouldn't be returned to Palestinians..

If someone thought about taking (my) car parking I am willing to defend it with anything I have in hand, so about home I don't know...
