Commitment And Language Barriers

Commitment and language barriers Dec 27, 2008
I need a very good English speaker if I'm going to be with someone. I want to share jokes, sarcasm, ideas, and thoughts with someone. How do people that can't or barely communicate in a common language 'feel love?' I don't get it.

If English is your first language, then why do you seek as such in your original post?

Therefore my assumption was that it was not your first language.

If English is indeed your first language, then your original post was badly worded in the context that i think you mean.

This is the relationship sub-forum. Communication is a part of relationships. So the ? is how can for example a Moroccan fall in love with a Bolivian assuming both don't have a common language?

I could only have a relationship if the person spoke English very well up to the level of understanding my humor, complaints, qualms, terms of endearments, etc.

I think I expressed myself in the first post just fine. :naka:

They say the language of love needs no words...

However the Eskimo girl I went out with didn't understand my line about it being freezing in the igloo. My clothes have still not dried out!

I understand well what do u speak about. Relationship with a person of other nationality, culture, religion, language etc. is a hard work. But it can be interesting. It can be real love. Sometimes u can't share a joke, any ideas of each other...... but sometimes u feel that language between people doesn't depend on words.

"Body language" doesn't work for me but I'm sure it works for others, that and a good cook, common language not required. [/b]
