The background for his prosecution is too bizar for words. Nobody wanted to prosecute Wilders after several requests. Until the a guy called Rene Danen came. Some kind of uberlefty. Via a secretary of state he persuaded the pulblic prosecution to go to trail. Juicy background is that Rene Danen during demonstrations around the Gaza war of 2008-2009 helped others to beat up a man waiving the Israeli flag. Anywho, also because of the involvement of the secretary of state (against the Trias Politica), the first trial was judged as a mistrial. The second trial was just a formality for an aquittal.
