The mistaken view that the crime committed by the Muslim in the OP is condoned by Islam is indeed spread by the same guys who are going around and insisting Obama is a Muslim.

The amazing thing is that 20% of Americans believe this - so I guess it is a good assumption that even more believe the fanciful interpretations about Islam. I mean, if one in five Americans believe Obama may not be an American born Christian, but that there is a conspiracy to conceal his 'true religion' ... well.

Pam Geller and Bob Spencer are at the forefront of bloggers who are Islamophobic - and both have come out and spoken their minds on the topic of Obama's religion. Spencer's own site proudly has him answering this question:
