The bottom line is, that the professor was not a nuclear schientist, but a particle physicist, who was not involved with the nuclear program. He was a supporter of Mir Hussein Moussavi. So it is more reasonable to think, that the Mossad or CIA for that matter, would be interested in killing a non nuclear scientist. It makes more sense, that Iranian officials are responsible for the terror, as they try to stifle academic dissent and some have called for the execution of the opposition.

Yes - the official government story looks like spin, especially as the opposition have shown he was a supporter of the opposition.
Seems a bizare way for the government to assassinate someone - but stranger things have happened. Let's see what eventually emerges about who was behind the bomb!
He also appears to be only one of a larg(ish) number of Physics lecturers/profs at the UoT - so hardly a major target for his work.
I expect there will be a number of conspiracy theories put forward before this dies down!
