Tensions in Egypt; fanatics burn crucifixes Nov 26, 2010
It looks like Muslim religious fanatics have held a protest in Egypt by burning crucifixes following clashes between peaceful Christians and the authorities where one Christian was martyred.

The authorities have also have detained 156 Christians following protests after they were denied a permit to build a church.

Classical Islamic law, which is discriminatory against non-Muslims, has often denied non-Muslims the right to build or repair houses of worship. Non-Muslims also were required to pay higher taxes than Muslims and feel themselves 'subdued' as per the Koran.

Today, although Egypt is semisecular, Islamic supremacism still exists. There are often attacks against Egypt's Christian minority by the Muslim majority in addition to a legal system which is biased against Christians with complaints against official discrimination by the State.

A group of Muslims reportedly gathered in the area of Giza where some 3,000 Coptic Christians were reported to have protested outside the office of the local governor.

The Muslims reportedly set several crucifixes alight and threw stones at the Copts.

Will violent protests now erupt over this in the Christian world?

Possibly....
