PA reiterates goal of Judenrein Palestine Feb 03, 2011

In a recent discussion of the anticipated Palestinian state, Mahmoud Abbas, leader in the territory, said he "would not tolerate one single Jew in his new country, Palestine." Speaking before journalists in Ramallah, he clearly noted, "We have already said, completely openly, and it will stay that way: 'If there is a Palestinian country with Jerusalem as its capital, we will not accept that even one single Jew will live there.'"

Abbas rejected any suggestion that Jews in Judea and Samaria, who have lived in their homes for decades, could remain under Palestinian rule

Just to be clear.

Fanbois are desperate to justify not giving up land under Israeli Military Occupation and divert attention from real (as opposed to invented) discrimination within Israel.

But let's be clear - it's an allegation made by a blogger and presented by Islamophobes as evidence that the PA wants a 'Judenrein' Palestine. LOL - you'd have expected a bit more care and attention given the recent failures when it comes to spurious 'evidence' - but alas, a juicy headline on a blog is irresistible it seems. Never mind that the PA's policy hasn't actually changed.

In any case, Abbas is not flavour of the month with the Palestinians themselves (he's scared of elections) - so it seems a bit cruel that fanbois are now turning on him. But interesting to compare what the Palestine paper leaks say the PA offered with the hype of these reports.

(Normally I'd ask for a reference and a complete quote, but I've learnt that it is pretty futile to ask for complete evidence when fanbois pick up news from blog sites - what is most likely to have happened here is a statement saying that no Israeli citizen or colonist will be allowed to stay in Palestine, has been translated as above - it wouldn't be the first time. Jewish people who wish to be Palestinian citizens (such as the Rabbi who served in Arafat's Government in exile, will be welcome - as are the Christian Arabs who are part of the opposition. ))

Cheers,
Shafique
