Rafiq Hariri assassinated with underground explosives? Dec 12, 2010
Well, it's come to my attention that my belief that Rafiq Harir was assassinated by a suicide bomber does not seem right:

Did you even research any of that before you wrote it? Suicide bomber? Where did you get that from? It was NOT a suicide bomber. It was a very intricate underground tunnel that was dug and had a couple hundred kilos worth of bombs in it. Get your facts straight. And the other members who were also killed were killed either through shoot-ups, or rigged cars.

I'm sure eh will be grateful that you are correcting many of his misconceptions (not least the factual bits of news he gets wrong - such as Hariri being killed by a suicide bomber).

So, conuslting Wikipedia just to quickly check if I misread the reports, it does seem that the official story was that Hariri was taken out by a suicide bomber:

On 14 February 2005 Hariri was killed, along with 21 others, when explosives equivalent of around 1,000 kg of TNT were detonated as his motorcade drove near the St. George Hotel in Beirut. Among the dead were several of Hariri's bodyguards and his friend and former Minister of the Economy Bassel Fleihan. Hariri was buried along with his bodyguards, who died in the bombing, in a location near Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque.

The latest progress report by Brammertz has indicated that DNA evidence collected from the crime scene suggests that the assassination might be the act of a young male suicide bomber.[8]

Wikipedia also has an entire article on his assassination, but I couldn't find any reports that Hariri may have been killed by explosives in an underground tunnel.

Perhaps my initial belief that Hariri was taken out by a suicide bomber will stand as this seems to be what the UN investigation team covering this incident currently supports.
