Mordechai Vanunu was the man who was determined to tell the world about Israel's
nuclear capabilities and, by doing so, created a world scandal. Vanunu is the
focus of tonight's spy thriller in the series exploring the race for nuclear
supremacy.
Vanunu worked as a nuclear technician between 1977 and 1985, separating plutonium
from uranium at the top-secret Israeli nuclear facility. Disgusted by how Israel
treated him, and with a growing awareness of the dangers of nuclear weapons,
Vanunu collected evidence by taking 60 photos of the top-secret plutonium plant.
Fast forward to September 1986, when The Sunday Times brought Vanunu to London
and kept him isolated while they verified his story about Israel's nuclear plant.
After weeks of isolation in a hotel, he popped out for a newspaper. A beautiful
blonde by the news stand caught his eye and he followed her until he plucked up
the courage to speak to the mysterious woman. They agreed to meet several more
times and Cindy, as she was known to him, bought tickets for them to take a short
break in Rome. This, however, was to be Vanunu's downfall. Cindy was, in fact, a
secret agent for Mossad, the Israeli secret service. He was drugged and smuggled
back to Israel where he was tried and jailed for 18 years.
He was released last year but was re-arrested for violating his conditions. While
he remains a traitor to Israelis, he is heralded as a saviour for nuclear openness
to many around the world.

Here is an actual interview with the man himself Mordechai Vanunu
You would be surprise to know that France was the one who supplied the reactor to Israel and the US was the guarantor of the completion of the whole arsenal.
So many people get their knickers in a twist over Iran possibly getting nuclear weapons. While that's not a good thing, let's not forget that Iran lives next door to a rogue nuclear state that has started several wars against it's neighbors, namely Israel. Can anyone name a country that Iran has invaded?
Despite repeated denials and ‘no comments’ by Israel. Israel’s nuclear arsenal, some say, rivals that of the United Kingdom. As many as 300 nuclear bombs are in their arsenal. If the basis of going to war is nuclear weapons, what Israel and US is saying against Iran, then clearly the world should be at war with Zionist Israel.
Iran does not have nuclear weapons and is a signatory to the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty (NNPT) which Israel refuses to sign on to. Iran has abide by all that is required of international laws. Iran has also submitted to international inspections of its nuclear facilities.
What a Double standard from the Western governments - Guess they hated the Jews so much that they'd hate to see them populating their cities as they once perceived and probably still do by many as “leeches, parasites” in Western societies. So, the option was to throw them away by creating a land for them at the expense of innocent Palestinians.
