Haaretz reports Israel has seen several high profile crime cases over the last several months, including a father suspected of killing his three children and n woman stabbed to death by her neighbor during her eighth month of pregnancy. Just this past week, a man stabbed his wife and son before attempting to take his own life.

We saw recently cases where an ex-IDF soldier said she would gladly slaughter Arabs, over a hundred thousand rallied in favour of racism in schools and colonial Rabbi Don Lior saying it is ok to spill Arab blood, praising Baroch Goldstein and railing against western music:

Supreme Court Chief Justice Dorit Beinisch said on Monday that the court system must make every effort to eradicate the violence which is spreading throughout the state.

Speaking at a swearing in ceremony for new judges, Beinisch warned the newly appointed that they were receiving the burden of judgment during an uneasy time for the law enforcement system.

"During this period of time, an air of violence, threats, criminality and disrespect for human life has been spreading," Beinisch said.

"In recent months, the phenomenon of violence and cruelty within the family, as directed at women and children, has been exposed. There has been threats and criminal endangerment against public workers, officials in different public systems, and against judges," Beinisch said.

Earlier this year, a man threw a shoe at the Supreme Court Justice, causing her to fall and be rushed to a doctor. The shoe thrower, who was sentenced to three years in prison, was allegedly disgruntled about the outcome of an earlier case.

"The courts must make every effort to eradicate first and foremost the phenomenon of different kinds of violence," Beinisch said.
