I've asked Flying Dutchman a few times whether he started his thread 'please help us' before or after clicking on the link above - but I guess he's too busy scouring the net for examples of enterprising Gazans to show us the resilience of Gazans under siege.
However, that said, given the destruction wreaked by the Israelis - there's now an opportunity for the Gazans to reap the benefits of reconstruction, providing the siege is fully lifted and building materials are allowed in freely and trade is also allowed (especially exports).
It would be fascinating to see how long the wastelands created by the Israeli bombings of residential areas (shown in the documentary) get reconstructed once the petulant Israelis allow the siege to be lifted.
Who knows, perhaps the municipal authorities will build a second olympic-sized swimming pool in Gaza for the kids?
