A draft resolution has been submitted to the UN concerning Israel colonies that have been built on land captures in 1967 - contravening international law and UN resolutions which clearly state that acquiring land by force is illegal.
It is good to see that they have chosen not to over-hype the resolution and to stick to factual wordings (indeed the part highlighted has even been the USA's position from the outset - that the building of colonies (aka "settlements") is illegal:
The draft uses language that the so-called Quartet of Middle East peace negotiators - the United States, Russia, the European Union and the United Nations - have used in previous statements on settlements.
It says that "Israeli settlements established in the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, are illegal and constitute a major obstacle to the achievement of a just, lasting and comprehensive peace."

Whilst everyone expects the USA to veto this resolution (again) - who knows perhaps they won't this time. But the main point is that it is now non-violent diplomatic pressure that the Palestinians are using to further their cause to end the long Military Occupation by Israel.
The propaganda that it is the Palestinian side that is holding up the peace process is surely only believed by die-hard extremists these days. Most Israelis don't buy this BS.
