Church bombing leaves twenty one dead - Egypt Jan 02, 2011
I remember on LW - an Islamic supremacist peddling website - where one of the commentators predicted that it was only a matter of time before a suicide bomber detonated his or herself in an Egyptian Christian church.

Maybe if I can be bothered, I'll go back through the archives and try to find the post.

Anyways, the al-Jizya report is saying that police suspect that this may have been the work of a suicide/martyrdom bomber, but those are just initial reports and the article later claims this may have been carried out by a remote controlled car bomb.

Of course, it's easy to see that these attacks are carried out in part due to the narrative that Muslims are always the victims and any acts of violence carried out by Muslims are rationalized or ignored by Leftist/Muslim talking heads in the West and Muslim world.

This massacre will be forgotten in the Muslim world before the victims even reach room temperature (sorry if that sounds insensitive) and the Islamic supremacist agenda reverts to churning out stories of the poor, oppressed, peace-loving Muslim world facing annihilation by the West and Israel.

Clashes have flared in the northern Egyptian city of Alexandria, following a car bombing blamed outside a Coptic Christian church that killed at least 21 people.

Police and Christian men faced off late on Saturday afternoon, with reports of rubber-coated bullets and tear gas being fired at crowds of young men.

Enraged Christians emerging from the Qiddissine (The Saints) Church fought with police and stormed a nearby mosque, prompting fights and volleys of stone throwing with Muslims.

Authorities blamed the incident on a suicide bomber but provided no evidence to back up their claim.

Reporting for Al Jazeera, Nadia Abou El-Meg, a journalist in Alexandria, said: "This scene [of clashes] has been [witnessed] several times today. The protesters started gathering and throwing stones ... the police responded with tear gas.

Edit: Found the quote from a user by the name of JihadBob:

It’s only a matter of time before a suicide bomber detonates himself during mass in an Egyptian church.

eh, I really don't get your point. Moderate and peace-loving Muslims (which are the majority) condemn these kinds of attacks. On Facebook today my Muslim friend in Egypt has a new profile image of a sign about stopping terrorism. Egyptians care about this and don't want a war between Christians and Muslims in their country.

Did you want to comment on the Christians clashing with Muslims at the nearby mosque after the bombing? Doubt it, because you likely think they were justified in attacking others at a mosque who most likely had nothing to do with the attack on their church. Muslim=guilty.

It is sad that whilst normal people of all religious and non-religous persuasions are saddened by these terrorist attacks, a vocal minority of people seem to have so much hate that they can hardly contain their glee when an attack which ties in with their twisted views occurs (and are noticeably silent when others that don't occur).

The labels of hypocrisy and distastefulness don't adequately capture the odiousness of these posts.

Fortunately, there aren't many contributers here who share this extreme all-consuming hatred of all things Muslim.

(The attack is the latest in a series of attacks against the Coptic church - including the bloody killings in Iraq. The reasons given were brought out in this thread:

He has the gall to call others distasteful.
