A Case Study In Victimhood

A case study in victimhood Jul 08, 2010
Someone once said that liberals, like the paranoid, are pleased every time their delusion is confirmed by an actual event.

Like the two groups above, members of a certain religion are exhilarated when they can document any instance of hatred against them - they call this 'Islamophobia'.

Recently, there was an arson attack against a Mosque in the state of Georgia. The Muslim spokesmen could barely contain their elation over the incident.

Ibrahim Hooper from CAIR (Council of American and Islamic Relations) was quick to insist that the authorities document this case as a 'hate crime'.

The usual loons on the internet were also predictable in picking up this story. It was too good to resist posting a story that would confirm their paranoid delusions.

Actually, the comments by loon followers were more revealing and would keep any psychologist busy for a number of years:

They’re all terrorising the muslims now.

This is pure terrorism.

The right wing fools (perhaps Nazis) are gearing up for a full blown Kristallnacht on Muslims.

Can we really say we live in a more developed and civilised world?

hello mindy.

its called temple cleansing. they are trying to anglicize jesus’s alledged temple cleansing in jerusalem.

But it turns out the event that the loons and victim-merchants were quick to cite to fulfill their paranoid delusions is now considered to have been an 'inside' job.

A member of the Muslim community is suspected of setting the fire that occurred at a Marietta mosque Monday night, Marietta fire officials said Thursday.

Mosque leaders said Tamsir Mendy, who describes himself as a "devout Muslim," had attended their prayer services for a few weeks, according to police.

Tamsir Mendy, 26, a native of Gambia, has been charged with 1st degree arson and is being held without bail at the Cobb County detention center, said Scott Tucker, Marietta assistant fire chief....

Officials have ruled out the possibility that the arson was a hate crime, and did not provide details on any possible motives for the fire.

Don't worry. The loons at 'loon'watch will keep their fingers crossed for the next time a mosque really is attacked in a hate crime.

After all, loons need these reported hate crimes against Muslims. How else are they to make their delusions believable to others if they can't occasionally cite a story or two?
