what is your opinion about worth

I have heard that if a jewel falls into the mire, it remains as precious as before; and though dust should ascend to heaven, its former worthlessness will not be altered. Do you think so ?But for me ,now i do not agree with that and i think if its worth is not be found , it will be nothing
