If you are that paranoid about being spied on, there is a company called SSL based in London who will sell you a nice little anti surveillance system in a case that detects bugs, cameras, microwaves, infra red and even ultrasound sensors...if you have £3500 to spare!

You only have to worry if you are going to be doing anything 'naughty'...so don't do anything 'naughty'!

A former FBI agent, Candice DeLong is the crime expert on Lifetime's What Should You Do? The show airs Saturdays at 11 p.m. ET

# Be aware that portable cameras can be used in crowds, like malls, beaches, parks or gyms. They are often hidden in duffel or gym bags.

# Spy stores sell special portable cameras with tiny lenses hidden in hats, eyeglass frames, shirt buttons and pens.

# Cell phones equipped with cameras are being used to secretly take pictures of women undressing. A common target is the gym, beaches, etc.

# Fixed cameras are more elaborate and invasive. Voyeurs pick a location, hide the camera, and wait for you to come to them.
Hotels, locker rooms, dressing rooms and bathrooms are common hiding places for fixed cameras.

# Other common locations for fixed cameras are above toilets and beds. In some cases, landlords have planted cameras and put the footage on pornographic websites.

# Fixed cameras can also be disguised as common household items: inside clock radios, smoke detectors, picture frames, lamps, tissue boxes and even stuffed animals.

# If you're concerned about privacy in a bedroom or bathroom, examine all items and search for any small holes or openings. If you see glass, it could be a lens.

# The best test is to make sure the product does what it should. For instance, cameras disguised as clock radios won't play music.

# keep a personal spy camera detector device if you are moving to such a suspicious place if you can afford that (price starts from $75-500).

# If you become suspicious that someone is recording you with a hidden camera, report it to the police.

oh man why so much crap? if there is a hidden camera in a room and ur afraid of showing sexy body for free just turn off the lights, abt IR camera just wear insulating sheet.........dirt cheap tip.

For some reason my post on this keeps disappearing. To sum up, you can buy a sweep device that will cover everything operating on radio frequency. They're about USD$45. Google for them!

Spam, on a public forum?!? It's all spam isn't it? ;-)

I should have made it clear in my original post on the subject that it was not an advertisement of any particular product. I was trying to give the bloke an idea of what something looks like for a particular price. With hindsight I see your predicament and the pain and suffering it may have caused your readership. I therefore apologise for any inconvenience and offence my post may have caused and will now skulk away to chop both my hands off. Next post I will tap my nose on the keyboard in a politically correct effort.

I guess this can happen,
i dunno but heard there is a bollywood movie made on same subject recently. Dunno but maybe staying in a reputed hotel can be a solution. Avoid low profile places:).

hope no one on here gets caught on a tape and pasted all over the world wide web.:)).

cheers,

Geesh, well if you are that worried about it go buy a tent and set it up in your room. How about the cam thats in the lid of your laptop if you have one? They have been known to have been hacked before. For awhile Toshiba would not install them because they knew of the problem. Because everyone one thought they were so great, they have them now as well.
