new to the forum, so if this has been addressed somewhere else, please forgive me for repeating....

my boyfriend is spending the summer with his mum is dubai and would like to keep in touch with me via his mobile but is looking for cheaper calls.....any suggestions how he can ring me in the uk without breaking the bank??

The best way is if you can use Skype, but I understand it is blocked in Dubai.
You would need to purchase a proxy/VPN service to get around this block.

You could also use VOIP, which may not be blocked. You could sign up for a UK VOIP account, and you would be able to make and receive calls as if you were local all for the fee of your VOIP account.

This requires you to have an internet connection and for the speed between Dubai and the UK to be fast enough though.
