Is anyone else just getting a weird basic version of FB? Can't get it to display properly.

Yup same here...Must be a problem with the site.

i have to say it is really annoying one

mainly a DNS issue. fix this permanently by using opendns.com


shortcut just set your DNS servers to:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

All works afterwards

With apparently newer version of Facebook, now they use another server (fbcdn.net) to serve the contents of the site (image, scripts, etc), instead of facebook.com.

Etisalat doesn't block facebook.com domain but unfortunately it blocks fbcdn.net, therefore it doesn't display & work properly.

Either use OpenDNS or paid VPN service. Or make a petition in newspaper so Etisalat can unblock fbcdn.net
