Hello everyone. I didn't load the beta version of IE8 but now that it has been proved I updated. I'm impressed. The pages load about 3 times as fast and there also is a compatibility tool so you can view pages in older versions of IE and firefox. Also it has a screen filter for instant protection.
So far it blows away my IE7 and firefox web browser for speed. Worth updating I think. (it's free anyway)
I have it but I don't use it for anything except to test website compatibility. It's much better than IE7 but it's still slower than FF3, Chrome, Safari, and Opera. Still, anyone using IE7 should definitely upgrade to IE8.
Oh and it's not really free. The price is included with your Windows license.
Microsoft pushed it out as a 'Critical Update' so for most users it will be installed automatically, depending on how you have set your update settings.
Haven't tried it myself. I use Firefox, Chrome and Safari, but FF for everyday browsing. I only use IE for accessing work email through Outlook Webmail because FF and the others don't have all the functionality.
