Can any Satellite TV experts help me...?
I've installed and set up my own satellite dish systems quite a few times in France and the UK without any problems, so thought I would try the same here at my house in Dubai.
I have a Humax Receiver with Abu Dhabi TV card, bought as a package. I've got a 60cm dish and a 20 metre cable run from the LNB to the receiver.
I've set up my dish and I'm after an automatic search I'm getting 198 channels received from the Nilesat Satellite, mostly Arabic channels but I have noticed that I'm getting 100% Signal Strength and 90% Signal Quality on most of them, so I assume my alignment is good?
Problem is I can't see any of the Abu Dhabi TV channels, I thought I should see them listed even if they were scrambled?
Can anyone off any advice, any help much appreciated!
Regards, Dave.

Can anyone confirm that I should see the Abu Dhabi channels as listed even if they are scrambled and not available to view?
Thanks, Dave.

Can anyone at least tell me what size dish I need to receive Abu Dhabi TV here in Dubai?
Thanks, Dave.

Oh well, now I have the answer!
I installed a 60cm dish and after carefully lining it I'm getting 100% Signal Strength and 90% Signal Quality so quite happy.
For anyone interested, skewing the LNB (rotating it) made a huge difference to signal strength. At zero degrees I got around 190 channels then I rotated it to approx. 60 degrees and I got 1117 channels.
I knew the skew angle made a difference but didn't realise it was that important.
All the best, Dave.
