[Skeptical]

Hello,
yesterday doctor confirmed that our three months old lil is having eczema. his both the cheeks are having red rashes. it seems eczema cannot be cured. can anybody suggest us a good forum for children suffering from eczema. pls help we are so worried.

The last site was advertised on morning talk shows a fair bit. Don't use steroid creams on the face. Our kids had mild eczema but we used paw-paw ointment. For really severe eczema you will have to use something else. Also washing with sorbelene cream or QV wash (soap free washes) helped enormously. There are quite a few Aussie sites to look at probably because it is so dry- moving to a tropical country, by chance, also helped and they also seem to have outgrown it!!

Either there's been some mis understanding or your doc has not got all his info correct. I am not a doctor...but a mother of an eczema sufferer and have researched on this for years now.

First of all, your child is too young to confirm that he has the kind of eczema that will not disappear. It is true that eczema has no cure...but that's when it does not go away on its own(!!!!) What I am trying to say is that many kids will simply outgrow it at around one year of age. Others at 3 and a good doctor has told me that five is also considered a magical age for eczema to disappear.

My daughter is four years and I am still hoping for it to disappear. Of course the longer it remains, i.e. once they have it after a year you know its the stubborn kind of eczema..........

I agree with audreygaur, the child is too young to confirm that she has eczema.

red rashes do not necessarily mean she has eczema.

i am a homoeopathic practitioner and i feel you should go to a good homoeopath if the english medicines fail. i have seen skin problems being treated by homoeopathy.

I tried homeopathy for my daughter for over 6 months. Her condition got worse for sure, although I don't know if it was because of the medicine or it was just supposed to. The doc tried so many of the homeo medications. He would call us in every 2 weeks and collect his fees for sure but not necessarily examine her and chnage or continue the medication based on whether we said she was improving or not. Although he would not give advise on the phone and insist we bring her in (even if it was not possible for us sometimes) so he can examine her...which he rarely did when we went.

I was also disappointed that he never took a personality check for her....didn't ask me anything about her temperament ...etc...which I believe is required for proper homeo treatment. I hope you are not him!

Anyway back to my daughter, she improved since I put her off homepathy....! Anyway...can you advise me if you believe homeopathy can cure eczema totally or it just helps it get better.

I must add for other readers that I have heard of several eczema sufferers getting cured with homepathy....its either not worked for my daughter or the doctor was not right. Seemingly only homepathy can solve eczema...but again not for everybody.

no.. its not me certainly as i am an engineer by profession and so have not registered myself here as a practioner. i take up cases of my friends and colleagues who know me personally.

for treatment of any chronic or deep rooted disease like eczema, a constitutional remedy needs to be given after noting down the physical and mental symptoms which include the nature of the patient, any strange, rare or peculiar habbit, response to environment, likes n dislikes etc. but this is also true that for skin diseases, the mental symptoms do not hold much importance.

my suggestion would be not to lose faith on homoeopathy as this is the only possible solution to cure in this case.

I have been suffering from Eczema/psoriasis for the last 4 years, so I have a reasonably amount of experience.

Hopefully, your child will grow out of it. Fingers crossed. But, be prepared a lot of people suffer from it for the rest of their lives. Even as an adult with the condition, at first I found it though, so I can imagine how difficult it is for your child.

The best treatment for the eczema is sunlight, and one thing Dubai is not short of is that!! I am currently in the UK, but looking to move out there in April, so have always found that whenever I go on holiday my skin get better.

I have used steriod creams, UVB, TLO light treatment at specialist clinics in London on a daily basis, and the best treatment has always been holidays to sunny countries. Hopefully, when I get over to Dubai my condition will improve.

Don't buy into all these medical miracles cures. They are just after your money. Alot of chinese medicines are just strong steriods (that can do more harm untested). The pharmaceutical industry is worth £billions. GlaxoWelcome (that has to pass FDA test) is within the top 5 UK FTSE companies. Now, these big drug companies do not discriminate against money, so if they could make money from miracles cures they would.

So sorry to hear of this and poor child must be suffering. I agree with the rest no steroids and basically no chemicals on the skin. It could well be just a simple immune system malfunction and can be cured with natural diet and avoiding chemicals. My son had the same prob but on the legs and buttocks. For years we used steroids to no avail. Then we tried using all certified organic skin care on him and put him on probiotic and he is cured of the nasty rashes. My girlfriend's daughter had same prob and the rashed started disappearing after 2 weeks. Another one taken from the open internet who used the same products:
