Suggestions for 3 hours in Dubai on a Sunday Jan 26, 2007
We are arriving in Dubai on Saturday 24th of February to start a Cruise with Costa ships on Sunday. On the saturday we plan to do the Big Bus tour of Dubai and then check-in on the ship. The next day we have to be back on the boat by the latest by 12.15 midday.....so my question is what can you suggest do do between 9am and 12:15 mid day (3 hours time)?. The idea is to concentrate either near to Port Rashid or to take a taxi and concentrate in one area. Is the World Trade Centre far from the port to go in a taxi? Can you go up to the top floor of the World Trade Centre to see the view? As Friday is the religious holiday and day of rest, is Sunday a normal day with shops etc. open? Also, what other interesting things are there to see in the same area of the World Trade Centre?
On our return back to Dubai after the next 3 or 4 days, then we also have some more time and will do a desert saffari etc. Our main question is what to do for the 3 hours on the Sunday Morning? In Abu Dhabi we will visit a Heritage Village so I don´t think we need to see the one in Dubai so as not to repeat. I would also ask you to give me names of any companies that organise excursions to the Palm Islands?????
Any ideas will be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Not sure if its interesting to you but the gold souq is near by so is the Computer plaza where you can shop for computer electronics and stuff thats in Al Ain center

Its not more than 15 minutes.

I dont think so but the nearby Emirates tower hotel has a bar/restuarant at the top floor called Vu which has a great view of the city .. but be warned its expensive place.

its the first day of the week everything is normal.

There is Sheikh Zayed rd which is just alot of towers, restuarants, and shops. Also there is Bur Dubai close by which has Burjuman mall, and Mena Bazaar.

I dont know of any, construction has finished on the Palm Island yet.
