Am moving to Dubai in March from UK. My academic certificate is currently going through the Foreign Office and UAE Embassy in London.
Does anyone know how long it will take for a local company to arrange a visa once they've got my certificate and other documents?

They can process within 10 days or so if they want, however many of them choose to wait a little longer to make sure you are good enough. It varies from Company to Company.

thanks for replying, they are actually pushing me to send my legalised certificate asap so they can get the Visa sored out before I arrive! I guess it wouldnt be a problem to arrive without it and then just do a visa run when it comes through?

yes you could do that too or even change status without a visa run they just have to pay 500 dhs extra.
