Help! I'm getting totally confused over this and have been told 4 different things now. Can you get the visa on arrival at the airport if you're a Greek national, that's all I need to know.

i don tknow, but you should talk to the egyptian consulate they would be the ones to tell you. If the ones in dubai are clueless call up the one in greece :

if you are greek naitonal means you are holding an EU greek passport.
Then you can obtain visa upon arrival.
This is the case for Cairo and alexandria airports, and i see no reason why sharm el sheikh would be much different.
