My kids have been looked after by a very good & loving Nepali nanny for a year and we're trying to bring her with us to DXB. But unfortunately the immigration rejected twice saying..NO VISAS FOR NEPALI?? ..is it just for us or for all the maids who are trying to come to Dubai in maid's visa?

It seems unfair if only Nepali are restricted to come to Dubai for work.

yes, unfair.

they do "national profiling" for want of a better term every once in a while. so that it does not mean that she may never be allowed to enter dubai - just not at the moment. the immigration and labour departments work on a "quota" system with regards to the ethnic composition of the labour allowed in over a certain period - at the moment it would seem that Nepal is not flavour of the month.

Another thing they don't tell you is that you are not allowed to employ a house maid or driver from the same country as yourself - so if you were to hold a sri lankan passport you could not employ as sri lankan domestic - same applies to all nationalities!
