I know that stuff with sexual content is blocked and banned in Dubai and that it's illegal to own pornography. Is it Ok to bring personal items such as dildos and lubricant? And should I just pack it with my clothes in my suitcase?

Canadian angel, see an earlier thread on personal sex toys, vibrators etc. I think u'd be ok to put it in ur suitcase, defo don't put it in ur hand luggage though, could be pretty embarrassing, unless u need to use it on the flight on the way over..........

I thought I read in the papers recently someone got pulled up for bringing in mechanical assistance? Maybe it was a job lot. I'd assume they show up clearly on the x-ray machines.
