Just been offered a position with my Firm's Dubai office. The package would be ~AED600,000. As I am a very junior lawyer I believe this is a very good offer (and more than what I would be paid in London gross).

I am single. Can you give me an idea of my expenses? I'd like to be able to save a couple of £k a month, help out some members of the family and live in a nice flat (somewhere close to the office in DIFC). Perhaps Old Town, but I understand a 1/2 BR is very expensive here.

Also, how much am I likely to pay for a long-term car lease and insurance?

take a read through this thread, it will give you a good indication of the cost of living. you will have to extrapolate from the figures i provided. increase the rental figures by about 15% to bring them up to date.

vehicles are cheap, don't worry about it/ them ...
