1) One has worked for over 1 year based on the employment contract. However employment visa was obtained later and therefore showed less than 1 year. Do you get a labour ban if you leave the company?
2) How much is it to lift a labour ban? 3,000 or 5,000?
3) If you get a labour ban in Dubai, are you black listed for good? Can you work in other GCC countries with a labour ban from the UAE.
1. the ban is implimented on the basis of the date of issue of the labour card. the criteria is actually 2 years service with the same employer before you are considered for a transfer of sponsorship
2. not certain, it was dependant on the job catagory you were employed in and title you held, it was 3,000; but it seems that this pay-as-you-go scheme has been recinded!
3. no, the ban is for 6 months from the data that your labour card is cancelled, it does not affect any other countries in the GCC. government employees, police, military, drivers and domestic servants have a 1 year ban (in the uae)! black listing is reserved for criminals, absconded employees and people who reguarly enter the country to work illegally.
