plzz help..confused about degree verification.... Nov 06, 2008
Hello everyone

My husband and i have been living in dxb since 2 yrs, he is working with a firm here who is now relocating us to riyadh(where we obviously dont want to go).
My husband got an offer from a semi govt org,and had his 1st interview in april and eversince had like 3-4 interviews in the same firm discussing the package n assuring him that he is "IN" but they didnt give anything in writing.
Now in Oct, the CEO signed the papers n sent his degree for verificaion, its been nealry a month and there is no news from there, nothing at all... my husband n i r getting impatient now..they didnt ask for his pictures nothing just his degree to verify..does any kind soul has an answer to this?
Can someone tell me is this the way to be done here? Or shall we take in the CEO's word that my husband is hired n leave his current job as they r relocating us in a month...
plzz i am waiting impatiently..thanks alot[

What papers did he (the CEO) sign?
Is his degree attested already? If you have been working in Dubai for 2 years his qualification would have had to have been attested before he could have joined with his current employer.
Why did they send his degree away for verification and to who did they send it???

You also need to define "semi-government", simply joining a "semi-governement" organisation doesn't mean that your husband cannot be banned under the labour ban. He would still need to get an No Objection Certificate from his current employer, and would have to transfer sponsorship.

NO! you can never, ever take anyone at thier word - even the CEO. Make sure he get an "Offer of employment" in writing - and even that doesn't guarentee anything!

He signed n gave his recommendations on my husbands papers n sent them for verficiation.
he's been working in dubai since march 2007

wat i heard ws they just sent it for verification to some govt thing..dunno abt that honestly hehe

So this means that maybe bc of the recession in dxbs job market they r prolonging all this..or i dont know what...

i think your husband has to try and force the issue with the new employer.

tell them he is being transfered and has to leave the country in 30 days - see what their reaction is.

down-turn in economy is a recent thing and not something that has gone on for months.
