Where can I get a part-time driver? Is it legal to hire one on a monthly-basis? Help!

What do you need a driver for?

Be on call 24 hours?
Drive you to and from work?
Drive you 9 to 5?
Work 5, 6, 7 days?
His own car?
your car?
drive the family, school, work, store, mall, etc.?
live with you?

answers to the above might help.

I don't drive. It's been an endless effort on getting a driving license with EDI for the past 6 months. I still haven't given up my hope!

3,4 times a week, 8-1pm ( mainly for kids schools/summer camps). I couldn't trust Dubai Transport service.

Easiest solution...
People have found a taxi driver that they have felt they can trust.
Then took the drivers mobile number and used him whenever they need transport.
I have heard stories of people using the same taxi driver for years, for school runs etc and of course the taxi driver is glad of the business.

Excellent suggestion and the very thing I did for the first 2 months I was here. I got the number of one driver from the Hotel and he would pick me up from the office back to the hotel. He was very reliable and if he could not pick me up because he was on another run he would send someone else to pick me up. In the morning I just took any taxi at the hotel (easier). You can easily arrange it (pick up at both times).
